“Astitwa” means “existence” in literal understanding. As the name suggest Astitwa is a platform where we seek the existence of women. Well don’t they exist? Yes they do, but where is the women’s presence apart from the socially marginalized position. What are they apart from his mother, his wife, his sister and his daughter? Here in Astitwa we try to seek beyond the contemporary and gist the womanhood as ultimate form of nature.
Astitwa.com is a nongovernmental organization that speaks unheard women’s’ voice. Here at Astitwa we encourage women to become self sufficient and tackle their issues by themselves. We encourage women to walk on their vision and perspectives of better livelihood. Education, healthcare and economic independence are prime need for women empowerment in today’s society. There have been efforts from both governmental and nongovernmental sector. However, lack of strategies and concrete actions has hindered the empowerment process.
In our society, there are plenty of women who are restricted, not only by the social taboos but also from their own inferiority feeling. It is not always the social scenario, but the mentality of mass which has develop a atmosphere of Do’s and Don’ts around women.
Here at Astitwa, we basically empower women to be self sufficient and aware them about their right of which they are deprived of. We provide knowledge about their health care and their right over their own body. We raise voice on Gender equality. We give a platform to all such women who want to achieve their goal and vision.
Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe and friendly place for all the women, so that they can express their feelings without any hesitation and barriers. They can also get wide range of information regarding different issues like life, relationships, entrepreneurship, women rights, domestic violence, health, professions as well as other aspect of social and economical life they are living on etc.
Vision
Our ultimate vision is to give equal importance to every issue related to women. Users of our site are from all age groups, from mature women to teen-age girls. We want to be the real face of all Nepalese women and we are committed to do everything to make the site a forum where they can share their feelings, opinions and learn from others experiences, and basically explore the hidden reality of women in society.

Story of the month
Story of the month is the Heart of astitwa which carry the voice of unheard females. This section basically focuses on the pain, suffering, cruelty, avoidance, ignorance that has been face by female in this modern contemporary society. This piece of article increase awareness on girl’s issues as well as Promote and encourage the cultural diversity. And also promote and encourage the cultural diversity through the critical writing to the traditional practice where female’s a considered subordinate. It highlights the socio economical political condition of a female which is well presented in a story form which is truly research based.
Story of the month is an enthusiast effort of astitwa’s team. We built a story through the research on different subject matters, most of them unheard and practical. We aim to raise unheard voices and issues via this section.
Relationship
These sections basically deal with the various relation oriented problems and highlight them in the article based form. Here we talk about the things which are the daily talk of the town but in whispering and unheard voice, here we present the topic like Relationship in general, its discourses, divorce, living together, love affair, extra marital affair and also talk about domestic violence within the family of young teen ager girls.
This topic can be contributed by any interested person who has a capacity to present those pain fear and unheard story in the simple and plain language which touches the heart of Nepalese society and strike in the mind of Nepalese people where they can move a step forward for the better change.
Women right
Under this section “Women Right” we solely focus on all those provisions, article, declarations as well as constitutional criteria’s that talk about women in textual form and its ground reality. We talk on the issues like how female are refused access to education and political participation, the status of women of the world and the achievement of their equality with men, we rise our voice to promote women’s equal participants and beneficiaries of sustainable development, peace and security, governance and human rights.
This section’s major contribution is to highlight the different rule, regulation and other constitutional frame work provided by law of Nepal and its implication on female’s daily life, its cause effect and opportunity leaded by those provisions as well to critically discuss on all those United Nations Convention on Rights of Women and their implication on Nepali society from grass hood level to top most level.
In Nepal, violence against women frequently takes the form of verbal harassment and Emotional abuse in addition to physical violence too. So in order to shuttle down such inhuman activities this section is formed. It helps to acquire the knowledge about the present world’s situation towards women and women’s condition in Nepal.
Her point of view
This is a section where Her (female) is liberal to express her idea and her feeling toward this world society as well as present the document which is just on her favor, how she actually perceive the society and how society perceive her, how she perceive other female and even the male? This section brings a contrast view, how the actual world of imagery exists on the female ideology.
His point of view
This is a section where He is liberal to express his idea how he see the women. This section allows him to critically interfere on any quality or lack of female. What are the real eyes that he looks at her? He is the judge of his own feeling, he is free to express what he really want and forward some concept that he is drawing inside him in regard to female. It’s not that we aspect only negative thoughts from male to female, but in some cases they are more concerned about female right and female related work so basically it’s an platform to bring their hidden feelings as well as ideological concept about female on male’s voice.

This section deals with the theme “Life is Beautiful “with this very topic we express our feeling towards life. How can we live our life in positive manner? Life is not only struggle from the time we are born it’s an opportunity to live and enjoy the every aspect of the world being a supreme animal.
Lesbians and bisexuals
This section deals the problem of Lesbians and bisexuals (Female) in this society. We come up with research based interviewed story which present the current issue regarding this gendered group with their own perspective.
However, Nepal has become the third Asian country to grant separate recognition to its community of sexual minorities based on their gender identities. They still suffer and even society lack the proper understanding about them. This has proved them a matter of laughter as well as the subject that should be rejected. So in order to come over such situation and bring them to the mass we flow the different activities and establish them as a citizen of Nepal rather than sexual minority groups.
Conclusion
Astitwa team is not creating Gender biasness or any other dilemma regarding the role and values of female this patriarchal society’s. It’s trying to raise the voice of unheard female and trying to bring them into mainstream. This site is dedicated to those whole female who consider that their story is actually the source of inspiration to other who are live under same circumstances. These sites particularly give an opportunity to know the problem and real situation of female in different sector with research based article. We also strongly talk about eliminating prejudice in public education, marriage and divorce rights, employment rights, including non-discrimination in access to jobs, job security, social and legal security, equal pay, and paid maternity leave as well as women trafficking.
