This relationship is completely a God gifted one, yet it's with ful l of controversies fuelled with ignorance and power to adapt in every corners of the society through out the world.

The idea of female-to-female eroticism and sexuality strikes into our mind as lesbians. The word lesbian presents the large issues of value in language, of women's mind and of social transformation, of alienation and catastrophe. Lesbian, a woman alone and integral, is despised by existing traditional society, yet thereby free to use her position, to reform and remember. Lesbian being an erotic connection is the primary energy of the senses which is both physical and intellectual, connecting women, a woman with herself, and women through time.

A figure of both of the satirist and the seer, she is a woman of integrity and power who is by nature and choice at odds with the world. Finally, lesbian signifies a change of relationships, radical internal transformation; it is a myth of psychic rebirth, social redemption, and apocalypse.

Here we share two real stories on lesbians of our society. (All names have been changed to maintain privacy)

Lila and Manisha, the two girls from Hetauda, who were brought up together as good friends, faced a hard time from their family and associates. For women in a relationship with another woman, there always arises a question of abuse or domestic hatred in our society. The fact, it happened between them too. Manisha's family had a doubt and worries regarding her relation with Lila. Her parents scolded and warned her about this so called unusual relationship. She was neither allowed to see Lila nor was allowed to talk over phone. Later on, Lila confessed her feelings towards Manisha, saying she was in love with her.

Lila's approach towards Manisha:

Do you need a girl or a guy as a life partner?

Manisha's reply: That's impossible and lets not discuss this issue anymore.

Lila was very possessive about her. She never liked Manisha talking with other guys or girls apart than her. They share a strong bond of friendship and this bond gradually started to grow into a sort of infatuation. As the time passed by, they started discussing regarding diverse matters and finally Manisha also accepted the fact that she had the natural attraction towards Lila.

Both the families came to know the truth regarding their relation. Then, Lila was forced to come to kathmandu and stay with her sister. Manisha couldn't bear the parting of her lover and this resulted her to commit suicide as the only last refuge. She had poisioned herself and transported to Kathmandu inorder to save her life. She was rescued to life after 17 days of hospitalization in kathmandu. After her recovery, she some how met Lila and they both planned to stay together. With this burning issue, Manisha's family filed a police case towards Lila and her family for instigating her daughter. But it seemed that the cause of Lila's father being imprisoned was for his daughter being a lesbian. He came out of prision after promising to get back them home. He came to kathmandu in search of two girls all the way from Hetauda. Finally, he found them and headed towards their home. On the way to home, their bus stopped in Thankot for lunch. Within this time, they ran away and got finally back to kathmandu.

In this way, today they both work together in an organization and live a happy lesbian life.

Another story is focused on two lesbians, Rita and Sanya, in their early twenties. These two girls used to visit Lila and Manisha when they had hard time from their families. When Lila and Manisha enquired about these two girls, then they both came to know that their families were suspicious regarding their relation and the same story repeated. Families tried to separate both of them. Sanya's mother called the police accusing Rita spoiling her daughter, and the police with the help of both families arrested Rita. Rita was imprisoned for two weeks. After this trauma, Sanya lost her mental state; she is mentally in a critical condition. Rita is forced to get married soon and this is leading her life to an end.

Regretion is not a point for them being lesbians. They don't mind being called lesbians and are happy on how and what they are. But she puts a question: why people call this as an unnatural feeling? They say the feelings and sentiments towards your partner is the same, as a couple of two different sex are in love. Lila shares her love, passion and excitements for her partner in all the possible natural ways. A guy is supposed to be active and a girl is passive in a man-to-woman relationship. But, in case of woman-to-woman relationship, both the partners are active and they share their secret physical desires for each other.

Another question is regarding lesbian rights. The unaware and ignorant society discriminate them and doesn't regard them as normal human beings. They want their society to broaden up their thoughts and adopt them as normal women. They want their rights as privileges so that they can live a normal and complete life. Lesbian's voice is in demand of legal rights with all the lesbians of the country. This has been and is being a major issue in the country. And it's a matter of grave concern for all, as it's an extreme form of inhumane display from the family and society against women in Nepal . The country must take corrective decisions as soon as possible.

Message : myself being a lesbian i could so relate to the stories. i only wish that the nepalese ppl, too, were a lil bit more understndn about the gay community. organizations like dis one is a really big help for ppl like us and in bringing awareness to the nepali society about the misunderstndn that they hav for da gay ppl . i juz pray n hope that some day in Nepal, da gay ppl are given da same rights and freedom to live their life openly with no fears frm da homophobic society. keep up the gud work.... god bless.....
